The still inanimate objects have a story, a relationship with each other. These objects are observed and recorded, attempting to capture their charm and panache. The ‘out-of-doors’ paintings are mere spaces that are surrounding us – living or still. Zanella has chosen works from the private collection at NAC which were inspiring and interesting to her, to be showcased during this exhibition.

Cristina Zanella is a Port Dover based artist who, for several years, was the art curator at the Lighthouse Festival Theatre. Her paintings have been exhibited in galleries in Toronto, Halifax, Brantford, Sarnia and various communities throughout Southern Ontario. She received her B.F.A from Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. Zanella has been the recipient of various awards including the Hazel Race Award for the Norfolk Visual Arts competition and the Peoples’ Choice Award at the Glenhyrst Gallery in Brantford.

Additionally, she has taught adult drawing classes at the Norfolk Arts Centre in Simcoe Ontario.

She also showcases her painting and textiles on the Norfolk Studio Tour.
