Welcome To Starr’s Front Porch

Starr Demeyere loved to gather with friends. With her warm smile and genuine interest in your world, she made everyone around her feel important and special. Starr holds a special place in the heart of Lynnwood Arts. She was an avid supporter, a board member, and a tireless volunteer and wanted nothing more than for the arts to be incredibly vibrant in Norfolk.

She had a vision and an optimism for all that the arts could offer a community and understood that for a community to thrive, art does matter.

For the past few months, Lynnwood Arts has been connecting with supporters to establish the naming of the Starr Gallery within the main exhibition space. Community members are generously coming together to celebrate her legacy and memorialize one of Lynnwood’s hardest working community volunteers.

Next, we want to develop a gathering space right next to the Starr Gallery. This will be called, Starr’s Front Porch. It will be a warm, welcoming space for friends to come together, have a coffee or tea, and delicious baked goods.

Starr’s Front Porch will be a place where everyone can share in the joy of living in a community that celebrates creativity and supports one another.

You can just picture Starr, in the center of the room, laughing, chatting, and making sure that every person feels included and welcome.

Join us today and together we will continue Starr’s legacy. Your donation, at any level, will be gratefully appreciated and celebrated. Funding will be used to help establish the tea room with furniture, dishware, fixtures, and decor.
