Creative Expressions

March 6 – May 24

Opening Event: Sunday, April 6 at 2pm

At Lynnwood Arts, we are deeply committed to the transformative power of cultural participation, a belief underscored by the Canadian Index of Wellbeing’s recognition of its vital role in our health. This conviction drives us to offer our program, Creative Expressions, which

blends dementia-care strategies with art-based activities to make a meaningful impact on individuals living with dementia and provide much-needed support for their caregivers.

Research has shown that engaging in the arts can help reduce agitation, enhance emotional expression and foster meaningful connections. Just as music opens the minds and memories of those living with dementia, art has the same positive effect.

Lynnwood will continue to cultivate its value as a necessary social space, and through this program build on the concept that art holds people’s collective memories.

Working in partnership with the Alzheimer Society – Brant, Haldimand, Norfolk, Hamilton Halton, Lynnwood Arts is pleased to present an exhibition of art pieces completed by the participants of Creative Expressions.
